TRAVEL CLOCK BY DANIEL GNADER, CIRCA 1800

A rare and historically interesting European antique desk or travel clock, complete with its original fitted, velvet-lined presentation case.
This striking timepiece features an elongated, octagonal (hexagonal-variant) brass case adorned with intricate, classical engraved patterns along the bezel and the stylised bracket feet. The top of the case features a decorative carrying handle and winding/setting elements, characteristic of high-quality continental portable clocks from the 18th or 19th century.
The light-colored enamel dial is signed "Daniel Gnader" at the top and "in Prag" (Prague) at the bottom in an elegant Gothic script. It features crisp Roman numeral hour markers, an inner railroad minute track, and delicate, period-correct hands. The clock is accompanied by its custom-shaped, two-part protective travel case, which opens to reveal a well-preserved, deep ochre velvet interior.
