First patented by Cartier in 1932 as the "Cabriolet Reversible," the Tank Basculante is one of the most distinctive and ingenious designs in horological history. Conceived as an elegant solution to protect the crystal and dial during sporting pursuits, it sets itself apart from traditional reversible designs by flipping vertically through 360 degrees within an integrated longitudinal outer frame.  
This reference 2390 "Grand Modèle" stems from a highly sought-after revival in the late 1990s and early 2000s, bringing a sophisticated mechanical heart to an ultra-thin silhouette. The watch features a beautifully decorated inner case housing a pristine cream-colored guilloché dial accented by traditional black Roman numerals and blued steel hands. A striking blue sapphire cabochon sits seamlessly integrated at the 12 o'clock position on the pivoting mechanism, serving as the functional tab to lift and rotate the case. True to its playful nature, the unique geometry allows the inner frame to rest securely in a propped-up position, doubling perfectly as an elegant desk or travel clock.
